As a self-employed Business Systems Consultant for over ten years, I have helped many different organisations improve their performance by choosing the right IT and business systems for their specific needs.

I have also seen what happens when the wrong systems or tools are chosen, or the right ones are used badly.

My focus is on helping small and medium sized companies who want the benefits of the latest technology and business practices, but don’t have the same budgets or resources as large organisations.

My name is Chris Holden and I help people to choose, set up and use the right tools for their business.

In over 30 years I have worked with large and small organisations in industries ranging from retail and hospitality to social housing, local government and financial services.

I am somewhat obsessed with tools. From pens, kitchen knives and chisels to spreadsheets, databases and calendar apps. I have learned that three things are crucial, regardless of the task you are doing: use the right tool; set it up right; use it correctly.

Based in the beautiful North East of England, when not working I enjoy history, woodworking and spending time on the beach with my dogs. Occasionally, I get dressed up as a giant puffin (but that's a whole different story).

I work a little differently to most consultants. I won't tell you how to run your business and I don't charge you the earth for the privilege!

I begin with a free initial analysis of your business systems and tools to determine where your business is today. From there, I'll suggest improvements using off-the-shelf software and how to use it.

You can, of course, go ahead and implement the changes yourself, without paying me a penny.
